GSFAC Career Development Panel
May 5, 2010 at Publicis Modem

A lot of information went down.
The first GSFAC "Career Development Panel Discussion & Reception" proved to be a great success. With over 50 attendees the students and young professionals got to ask the questions and often put some of the distinguished panelists "in the hot seat". GSFAC took the opportunity to award
$3,000 worth of scholarships to high school and college students during the event and honored the Local Student Teams from USF and imagiCal (UC - Berkeley) that participated in AAF's NSAC this year. We look forward to the GSFAC Job Fair event this Fall and know it will be every bit as succesful.
Taking notes was common in "Getting a job in advertising and making a success of it 101-A"

"What's a recruiter looking for?" JC Curran, Sr. Acct. Manager for The Creative Group/Robert Half International outlines what he looks for in sending a person out to a client.

Kathy Mitchell, GSFAC President introduces the panelists.

Rory Noguchi, HR Manager at BBDO West enjoyed sparring with other panelists during the Q&A.

In depth answers to serious questions were addressed in the many aspects of marketing and advertising by Marlies Gammon, HR Director at Ogilvy PR and other panelists.

LinkedIn's Steve Patrizi, VP of Advertising Sales & Operations spoke to the critical area of networking.

Jon Soto, Senior Vice President and Executive Creative Director at BBDO West told attendees what he expects in the applicant's portfolio.
Standing room only as the discussion proceeded, more people joined the dialog as the event progressed and it continued at the reception.
